Aristocrat Buys Slot Machine Maker
Aristocrat Leisure Ltd. has succeeded in
convincing lottery operator, Tattersall Ltd, to sell their slot machine supplier
section of EssNet Interactive, to them. The lottery operator is not only selling
that portion of EssNet but also dividing up the rest of it to other interested
buyers. For example, they are also selling the company's online lottery section
to the Scientific Games Corp.
EssNet Interactive's stock holder are luckily
not being kept out in the cold with this series of acquisitions instigated
by Tattersall Ltd. all of the revenues bought in by the sales will go straight
back to the EssNet stockholders themselves. Aristocrat has already began
talks with the slot machine designer on how the two companies can best give a
wide rage of customers the opportunity to take advantage of the advanced slot
machine and gaming technology that the companies are both developing.
Tattersall is still planning on maintaining a
strong presence in the gaming industry and is considering this sale between
Aristocrat and themselves as a sign that there will be more collaboration to
come. The company elaborates on this theme at a press conference, "This sale to,
and strategic alliance agreement with, Aristocrat represents a further step in
the development of the strong relationship between two substantial Australian
gambling companies."
