Working Out Kinks in Online Gambling
The online gambling industry is still trying to
better their ways of restricting young people from their sites and also keeping
them sheltered from much of the influence of online gambling. This topic will be
a main focus of discussion at the International Gaming Conference which is being
hosted by the Responsible Gaming Council in Toronto
The biggest problem seems to be parents
actually bringing their kids to play with them online or watch them as they play
on online gambling sites. But the far greater situation is that the problem
gamblers are young adults who saw their parents play when they were kids. But
the majority of them learn the bulk of their skills on online gambling sites
that offer free instruction and free practice play and then they like to take
their newly learn skill to the next level and play with real money.
Like with the majority of media mis-information
the kids are seeing images from things like the World Series of Poker and seeing
theses young people walk away as millionaires. So then they think the life of
professional online gamblers and poker players is just a piece of cake, "You
make money and all you do is play cards. And make millions of dollars."
