Congress Agrees To Study Online Gambling
A representative from Nevada has been the sole
voice saying the congress would be much better advised to do some objective
investigation into the world of online gambling before the flat out ban the
industry with-out knowing more completely what the actual situations are. The
Reps name is Jon Porter, and so far his call to rational examination of the
issue has received support from forty-two other representatives.
With that they are now starting the Internet
Gambling Study Commission Act which would more fully examine the effects and
impacts of online gambling from every angle. This will be the first study ever
conducted into the advantages and disadvantages of online gambling from a
bi-partisan and rational point of view. Up until this point action concerning
the online gambling industry had primarily be based off of hearsay and personal
objections to the practice of gambling.
“With technology constantly evolving, we
need a much better understanding of online gambling before Congress makes any
rash decisions about its future,” shares the representative on the issue of how
the government can no longer make decisions based off of blind judgments.
“Restricting the online gaming industry without fully reviewing the potential
negative impacts would be a knee-jerk reaction. I commend Congressman Porter for
his leadership on this issue and am confident that this legislation will provide
a thorough evaluation of Internet gaming,” says Representative Jim Gibbons on
the topic that he choose to support given the status of many unresolved
questions about the online gambling industry.
