Progress with Anti-Online Gambling Bill
The online gambling industry has been experiencing a steady incline of
success, that is when it comes to general popularity and player increase, but
when it comes to the United States government the online gambling industry is
still in and out of the proverbial dog house. Presently the industry seems to be
on the outs, on the news that a congressional subcommittee has approve an
anti-online gambling bill. Despite studies done that reveal the majority of
Americans being apposed to such restrictions, the House is making the first step
toward banning this form of entertainment found enjoyable for so many Americans.
Unfortunately, given the fact that so many Americans are already playing
heavily at online casinos and a large portion of the online gambling industry's
revenues come from the United States, the industries stock immediately took a
beating when the news of this negative congressional development hit the wire.
The main way that the bill would restrict the online gambling industries
activity is by not allowing credit cards and other online payment establishments
to accept transactions within the United States for online gambling sites.
And while many agree the off shore online casinos should continue to go un
taxed by the government which regulates the industries most active playing
population, they also don't fell that a strict ban would be the answer given the
accessibility of the internet in general, and that the online gambling industry
should be regulated and taxed in order to keep a portion of the billions of
dollars Americans are gambling away at online gambling sites circulating within
the country instead of being funneled overseas.
